Government Procurement Service (formally Buying Solutions)

The Government Procurement Service (formally Buying Solutions) is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office with the responsibility of providing procurement savings for the UK Public Sector as a whole and specifically to deliver centralised procurement for Central Government Departments.

In 2010 SBL was awarded a place on the CITHS Framework under the Specialist Partners for Software lot 3. The scope of CITHS Lot 3 is as follows: 

  • The supply of the full range of commercial and open source off-the-shelf software, software licenses and associated software services including software asset management. 

SBL have successfully promoted this framework to new customers in new market sectors in order that they can gain the benefits and advantages of buying through this centralised public sector framework. 

In addition, SBL continue to work in partnership with the Government Procurement Service to help identify areas of potential consolidation or aggregation that will significantly lower the acquisition costs of IT within central government, through the strategic analysis of business needs against an array of IT solutions available in the market.
