Professional Services System Support Engineer

Key Functions of Role:

 

  1. You will play a key part in the on-going implementation, support and maintenance of a broad range of IT infrastructure and products.
  2. Working in the Professional Services team, the role will require the individual to have a solid understanding of a broad range of IT technologies to support multiple customer projects.
  3. The role includes the assistance in designing, implementing and supporting our customer IT requirements.

 

Duties:

To carry out a varied selection of duties including, but not limited to:

 

  1. Technical implementation and support work on SBL managed and hosted services.
  2. Provide 1st and 2nd Line Technical support services to SBL Customers.
  3. Have a good understanding of all products assigned to SBL Professional Services.
  1. Obtain technical qualifications on a core set of IT products.

 

Responsibilities:

 

To comply with all company policy, procedures and other instructions as may from time to time be issued including Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and HR documentation.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

 

  1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a 1st/2nd Line IT role.
  2. Microsoft Operating Systems including Active Directory, Group Policy and WSUS.
  3. Server and client technologies.
  4. Networking infrastructure.
  5. Virtualisation.
  6. Confident team player with diplomacy, enthusiasm and commitment.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  8. The ability to organise in terms of personal planning and prioritisation of work.
  9. Highly motivated and flexible.
  10. The post requires a vetting level of DV. SBL will sponsor the applicant to gain this requirement.

 

Desirable Skills/Experience:

 

  1. Network+, Security+, MCSE or relevant experience.
  2. Firewalls, Routers, Switches, WiFi APs.
  3. End-point protection technologies such as encryption and port control.
  4. Knowledge of current MoD networks and accreditation requirements.
  5. Knowledge of organisations such as UKNDA, CSD, ISS, DAIS, NCSC and CESG.
